One question has always eluded me as I have examined public policy questions these past four decades. That is why when propositions are presented to the public so many people are outraged yet the legislators who approve [...]

The City Council is scheduled to take-up appointing an “alternate” EX-city councilmember to replace ELECTED city councilmembers on the MPO Transportation Policy Board. Richard Perez staged a coup at the last MPO meeting to allow this brazen violation to appear as though it’s legitimately part of MPO policies. This item appears on the city council [...]

We’ve come full circle. We started the session fighting this Governor, and we’ve ended the session the same way. The only difference is that the Legislature could have given us a slam dunk (HB 1892), but caved and left more in doubt, including the fate of the Trans Texas Corridor, than it made explicit. [...]

Read the Express-News article here.
The Governor got nearly every taxpayer protection added in the House STRIPPED from the bill, SB 792. SB 792 protects corporate bidders more than the taxpayers left holding the bag! There were more legislators during what little debate that was allowed on this bill, defending the rights of corporations than their [...]

Are we going to let Wentworth, Uresti, Van De Putte, Zaffirini, and highway lobbyists pull our roads out SB 792 in conference committee (of course, their line is: “that was a decision of the conference committee”)? Are we going to let highway lobbyists threaten Rep. Joe Farias this way? Our senators and highway lobbyists have [...]

Ricky’s ticked
By Eileen Welsome
Texas Observer

Foreign Privatization of PUBLIC Highways
By Henry Lamb
American roads are the hottest commodity in the international marketplace. State and local governments are falling all over themselves to sell off highways, bridges, and all sorts of other revenue-producing infrastructure, to international financiers who are eager to snap up structures Americans have already [...]

Perez stages a coup at the MPO
Gets himself re-appointed AFTER he’s OUT OF OFFICE!
In a raw abuse of power, using a blatant power grab accompanied by his lame duck term limited out councilmembers voted to turn law and order upside down on their way out of office, when soon-to-be ex-Councilman Richard Perez, who is chief [...]

Link to article here. For those still trying to claim the North American Union and Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) are a “conspiracy theory,” they need to wake-up and smell the legislation. Not only have 13 states adopted resolutions opposing the formation of a North American Union and NAFTA superhighways (Trans Texas Corridor), but also [...]
